You will be meeting with our Nurse Practitioner, Amie, who has done 6 months of in-office clinical studies with semaglutide +NAD. She will perform a thorough health history and physical assessment to ensure this will be a good treatment option for weight loss. In addition, with our compounded Semaglutide + NAD we REQUIRE labs (blood samples) to be done in our clinic prior to deciding if you’re a candidate or not! Your health is most important, which is why we take this extra step to ensure the safest treatment options for your health!

Semaglutide is a synthetic glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist that belongs to a class of drugs called incretin mimetics. Incretins are a type of hormone that stimulates the decrease of blood glucose levels, such as GLP-1, by binding to and activating the GLP-1 receptor. GLP-1 works to regulate one’s appetite and caloric intake, and the GLP-1 receptor is present in several areas of your body, including areas in your brain responsible for appetite regulation. Semaglutide, as an agonist, binds to the GLP-1 receptor and works to lower blood glucose by stimulating insulin secretion and to inhibit glucagon release.

NAD+ is a type of coenzyme known as nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). Coenzymes are organic compounds or molecules that help enzymes to start reactions or functions within the body. They can assist in various essential roles such as digestion, cell growth, energy metabolism, and more.

It gets to a steady-state in the body after 4-5 weeks. This is typically when patients start to appreciate steady weight loss. However, you may experience some nausea or changes in appetite and cravings immediately after starting the medication. On average, patients may expect to lose an average of 3-4 pounds a month and are typically on the medication for 6-12 months until an ideal weight has been achieved. Patients may choose to stay on a ‘stabilizing’ dose to help maintain their achieved weight loss.
